The Emporium

In 2010, Shay opened up the Richard Shay’s Photo Emporium as a welcoming place to have photo parties, in which he teaches guests how to take professional pictures. At the parties, Shay gives each guest a camera, puts on great music, strobe lights, and first hand instructions on what it’s like to take photos in a full professional setting.

After a party, Shay prepares a disc of the best photos and provides one to each guest.

Richard Shay is a professional and well-known photographer who began his career at The Oprah Winfrey Show, and now covers private events and parties, non-profit functions and large corporate events. Shay has also taken portraits of many celebrities including Michael Jordan, Oprah, and Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins.

In 2012, he photographed the cover of the Smashing Pumpkins 2012 album, Oceania.
